Overview 概要
My main research field is astrophysics, especially solar and space plasma physics. I have also been involved in various interdisciplinary studies of space exploration in collaboration with humanities scholars and social scientists, such as space ethics and space anthropology. Other research interests of mine include science communication and historical astronomy. I am also interested in comparative study on science and art communities, such as their public relations, ethical issues, and gender inequality.
I’m going to add more explanations about my research in this page, particularly those on humanities and social science as they were mostly published in Japanese.
大学院時代から宇宙物理学、特に太陽物理学と宇宙プラズマの研究をしています。2008年に京大の宇宙総合学研究ユニットに着任してからは、 宇宙に関する新しい学際的な研究を開拓するというミッションを受け、 特に人文社会学系を中心に様々な分野の研究者と協同して文化人類学、倫理学、科学技術社会論などの切り口から宇宙開発利用について考える研究や、歴史文献を使った過去の天体現象の研究にも携わっています。また、科学コミュニケーションの実践と研究も行っています。2018年に京都市立芸術大学に着任してからは、コミュニティとしての科学と芸術の比較研究に関心を持っています。
